Wow I was really expecting valve to not do TI this year
Everything can happen with Valve xD but I don’t think the dota pro scene would have survived them simply not doing anything, so I didn’t really expect it
I really hope Valve sits down and really looks at the TI this year and apply what they learned last year.
As someone who was way to busy last year to follow pro Dota. What happened last year?
I can’t speak to the live event, because the cost seemed high so I didn’t go.
But it was one of the worst performing compendiums in a long time. So the prize pool was pathetic. The compendium underperformed because of choices Valve made. It was disappointing and boring on all levels. No interesting event, no big costumes, etc.
And despite pulling things encourage people to spend money on the compendium we’re only a small portion even went to the prize pool… Valve still isn’t putting more money into the price pool or put a bigger cut of the companion into the prize pool.
So all that lines up to say that there might not be a lot of confidence especially from the pro teams and this year’s international which is supposed to be Dota’s big game…
Ah okay, thank you for the response
I will definitely try to get tickets and go there :D
