In other words, 35 Michiganders have had their constitutional rights violated without due process.
From my cold, dead hands.
I can’t imagine what made 35 people who were targeted by their government give up their best protection from the government.
From my cold, dead hands.
That’s exactly what the law is intended to prevent:
if a person is found to be at risk of harm to themselves or others with a gun, the state’s new so-called ‘red flag’ law can temporarily take away their firearms.
I’m not property of the government, why should the government suspend my rights to “protect” me from myself?
There’s a rule-breaking quip with which I could respond, but…I won’t.
Instead, I’ll just say, please stop functionally supporting potential criminals with firearms.
“Potential criminals”, they’re also known as innocent people. What is this, minority report?
“Temporarily” take away their rights.
They’re from the government, and they’re here to help, right?
By yourself you’ll lose every time. Who has actually fought off the government and things just went back to normal ?
A bunch of cops showing up at your door is probably a very good deterrent to any resistance. Most people dont want to be a matyr.
A bunch of cops showing up at your door is the way the state indicates they are here to personally harm you. I would much rather go out bleeding in my house than getting locked inside of a cage for decades.
Easy to say that, but when they actually do show up, thats another story.
