Hi folks, can anyone help me figure out what’s happening here with editing text?

Sometimes when I’m trying to change the font of text it stops working. I’m attaching an image to better illustrate the problem.

With text highlighted I go to change the font settings in the section circled in red but they do not actually change the font/update the settings outlined in blue. I cannot use the settings outlined in blue to select the font from a list, so I cannot use this as a workaround.

This problem doesn’t always present itself and I suspect that I’m causing it myself but I just don’t know how.

Any help would be much appreciated!
