It’s out!

Interesting details:

  • We have a better ambient occlusion option now.
  • DLSS/FSR is available.
  • Character lighting is smoother, eyes are better, mouth animation is amazing, hair looks better. Sadly difficult to see in the character generation due to the lighting but if you let the benchmark play with it, it becomes rather obvious.
  • When selecting voices for a character, you can now also select which type of emote you want to hear as an example.

And now I need a new graphics card. 6000s in high laptop were pretty acceptable on my 4k TV and my 1440p monitor can probably go maximum at that score, but I know I can do better!

Not as excited as I was for the last two expansions, but I definitely can get down with pictomancer.

I feel like the excitement is the same for everyone. It’s a whole new beginning and so we don’t have the excitement we had going from Shadowbringers into Endwalker. I’m setting my expectations low and hoping for the best.

I’m not very excited story wise and the trailer didn’t hype me up in any way compared to Endwalker’s trailer. That said the amount of content they’ve promised to include and the interest in reviving large group play made the difference. Hopefully we’ll have tons to do as the patches drop.

I was pleasantly surprised that my 3-4 year old CPU can handle maximum at 1440p well. I know my cards still capable but my CPU is getting older. Cards a rx6800xt and cpu is 17-11700.
