Please read the replies to the link i posted in this linked post. It highlights a lot of really upseting content that is pushing LGBT people away from this instance and makes people feel uncomfortable or unsafe in a safe space. Reminder a persons right to exist peacefully shouldn’t be up for debate and they shouldn’t be treated like they were by the commenter who replied to their comment.

Do we as LGBT stand for this type of behavior to our siblings and friends??

I see a thread of people shitting on an asshole calling human rights an opinion? It looks like he has 2/3 upvotes but if there was a downvote button i guarantee their comments would be in the negatives. It doesn’t look like a debate to me but people telling someone that it’s not a debate and if they think it is one they can go elsewhere. I guess the whole conversation could be removed but i think having one so full of support for transrights being human rights is good for other readers to see. If they agree with the asshole, they’ll know their “opinions” aren’t welcomed or supported here.

FWIW the community response seems strongly against this dEbAtE mE bRo Scheiße.

Bans are necessary when someone wants to debate the existence of trans people (or anyone).

IMO it seems pretty clear that mods+admins and the community basically told the person, in no uncertain terms, either to figure out that we don’t put up with the “debate-me” nonsense or to fuck off. As a queer POC, I personally find seeing that community push-back vital in gauging whether or not I feel comfortable here.
