Fury road was amazing. I hope furiosa is good, but I’m not too optimistic. But I wasn’t optimistic about fury road either, until I saw it.

Cautiously optimistic. I’m not sure if they can still capture the magic they did on Fury Road. Also, the trailers look too CGI-ed for some reason. I’ll probably wait for reviews first before deciding if I should see it in theaters.

Personally I don’t think Anya Taylor-Joy is the best casting for a young Furiosa and the first trailer I saw didn’t exactly raise my hopes. But I trust George Miller to do his best with this so I’m cautiously optimistic.

I would say I’m curious rather than excited, I’m not getting my hopes up yet but I’ll definitely give it a chance.

Not really. Because it’s a prequel. There’s no concern about her living or dying. IMO, it’s also why Solo wasn’t a good movie. There’s supposed to be all these tense moments where you aren’t sure what’ll happen but they fall flat because you already know the future.

I think Solo fell flat because they made all the interesting adventures you heard about in the OT happen in a single week. Solo isn’t a daring adventurer with a long and storied history, he’s a guy who had one exciting week. Also he’s supposed to have been a liar when he said he made the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs, but Solo retconned it so he was telling the truth. Which means Solo’s arc in Star Wars from scumbag to hero isn’t as steep or dramatic.

I’m not, but I’ll probably see it once it hits the internet.

I just don’t have high hopes for a Mad Max movie without Mad Max. I don’t think the studio probably does either.

Personally i am not extremely hyped, but assume it will deliver a solid movie.

I can appreciate the quality and craftmanship of the 2015 Mad Max: Fury road, but somehow despite that it just didn’t quite click with me.

In regards of the stunts and so on i expect Fuirosa to deliver similarly. Where i am unsure (based on the trailer) is whether the casting can match Fury road. Feels like Tom Hardy has a ruggedness (?) to him that fits better into the Mad Max world compared to Chris Hemsworth.

Won’t go out of my way to watch it in the cinema, but will probably stream it at some point.

I wish I was, but like many others here … being a prequel and trying to capture the vibe/magic of Fury Road … not a great mix. Watching the trailer my first thought was “so they’re just gonna go with exactly the same look?”, which is rough because we all loved Fury Road … but I wonder if the vibe and aesthetic will hit the same way? After Dune pts I and II?!

And then with the whole prequel thing … part of Fury Road’s magic was that we had no idea what was going on … here, well, it’s an origin story for a character we know well by now. So I don’t know.

The trailer took my hype and turned it into whatever the opposite of hype is.

I actively don’t want to see it now. But Mad Max Fury Road is one of those movies I’d say is as close to perfect as it can get, so I will leave room for the review aggregators to tell me if it’s worth bothering.
