As ben norton says: “the rules based order is when the US makes the rules and orders everyone around”.

Indeed, it’s so revealing when western mainstream press starts admitting that the rules were always meant to keep others down. Meanwhile, the whole defending the free world narrative is gonna be mighty hard to peddle given how economic situation in the west continues to unravel.

The reality that libs are incapable of acknowledging is that material conditions are what people care about first and foremost. The abstract freedoms they champion are intangible, and don’t translate into anything meaningful for the vast majority of the people. When you can’t afford food, housing, education, or healthcare, being told you’re living in a free country becomes a farce.

A human being actually thought up these words.

In large parts of the world, America’s claim to be upholding the rules-based international order is treated with derision. So what can be salvaged from this mess? One answer is for Blinken and co to talk less about the rules-based international order and more about defending the free world. That is a more accurate and comprehensible description of what western foreign policy is actually about.

That does not mean that the two sides are on the same moral level. As in the cold war and the earlier struggles of the 20th century, the world’s democracies do not need to apologise for being ruthless in defence of free societies.

Wow this guy is an imbecile. He says that Western ghouls should stop citing “rules based international order” because the concept is nebulous to an average person, and claim to defend “the free world” instead which somehow is easier to wrap the head around.

I have always seen “the free world” as a veiled racist rhetoric. I wonder what terminology this guy will try to get them to use five years from now.
