This is the best summary I could come up with:

The military uniforms, the police escort and the black folder tucked under Pikhota’s arm combine to make the pair immediately recognisable: they are one of the Ukrainian army’s mobilisation squads.

Facing a Russian army that has superior numbers and weaponry stocks, and with Ukrainian troops at the front depleted and in need of rotation, the government has been attempting to step up the mobilisation drive over recent months.

Pimakhov’s bucket hat, Pikhota’s wraparound sunglasses and the pair’s jovial countenance sometimes give them the feel of a comedy double act, but the consequences for people of an encounter with them can be life-changing.

Mykhailo Podolyak, a key aide to president Volodymyr Zelenskiy, said in an interview in Kyiv: “Of course there will always be communication problems, because it’s never easy to find the right words for people – for mothers, wives, families – when a person goes to war.”

They do not know that Pimakhov was wounded twice at the front: he still walks with a limp, and he sees poorly out of one eye because an incoming Grad missile hit close to where he was digging a trench, killing a friend and sending skull fragments into his face.

Watching Pikhota and Pimakhov at work in Kyiv offered an insight into the difficulties Ukraine faces recruiting new soldiers, and into the social divides opened up by two years of war, with simmering mutual resentments that may endure long after the fighting is over.

The original article contains 1,079 words, the summary contains 242 words. Saved 78%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

Why doesn’t Ukraine just force migrant workers and foreign students to fight for them?

Fun fact, more Ukrainians fled to Russia than any other country at the start of the war. Hard to get migrant workers and foreign students to fight when the regime can’t even get their own people not to run to the other side.

        That’s simply untrue.

Thanks for confirming how pathetic Russia is by forcing foreigners to fight for them.

Putler Youth coming outta the woodwork.

                Anyway, you’re right. I should’ve just quoted

Fun fact, more Ukrainians fled to Russia than any other country at the start of the war.

Estimated number of refugees from Ukraine recorded in Europe and Asia since February 2022 as of March 2024, by selected country

By the way, just to clarify the data, does it include or exclude all of the children Russia kidnapped?

I don’t understand what that means as an argument. Or maybe that this does not include people who fled bombs from Ukraine from 2014?

I’m also not aware of children kidnapping nor do I see a point for Russia to do that.

It could also be interesting to be able to discriminate between people from Ukraine and people from Donetsk and Lugansk

Nobody is making personal attacks here. I’ve just stated basic facts. You are a deeply ignorant individual as you’ve amply demonstrated by your comments, and you lie constantly.

                To recap:

You agreed with me that it is pathetic Russia is forcing foreigners to fight.

You don’t understand the links you provide.

You are a constant source for me to laugh at.
