The new location on Fifth Street will span from Main to the Columbia Parkway and I-71 on-ramps.
Quite frankly I think this location sucks. I don’t know why they felt the need to move from 2nd/3rd and to such a terrible location on 5th. At least by Fountain Square on 5th it was ok but I detest this location personally.
Nah, 5th Street was always better. 3rd doesn’t have shade or places to sit, so you’re stuck with the official seating locations that are always full. On this span you have lots of hardscapes around the office buildings to sit and eat even if all of the official seating is taken. Plus shade from all the buildings. Including fountain square would be better, but I get why they don’t want to stop streetcar operation for a festival. I think they should just expand to 6th as well and eliminate any over crowding concerns, and work with p&g to use their garden space officially.
I think they shouldn’t stop streetcar service. Just do it like European festivals and let it run through it.

Maybe it will be better. I’ll wait to see.
Ugh, I agree that this location is terrible, but it’s still better than 2nd/3rd. Literally standing on top of a highway wasn’t enjoyable at all and I’ve skipped the last 2 years because of it. Definitely should go back to fountain square, or maybe the Dora district at the banks and spill into Smale park? Just get it away from the highway please!
Well I was honestly hoping we’d get the money this year to start capping FWW which would solve a lot of issues. Sun would still be an issue but maybe then we could put more tents up.
Definitely want to cap FWW, but I’m pretty sure that’s not going to happen.
I actually like the location. Taste of cincy was on the same span last year, didn’t go this year so not sure if they moved it.
I personally thought 2nd/3rd last year was an awful and extremely dangerous location literally hovering over I-71. The street space and mobility is really limited, it felt like a sardine can.
I do think they’re gonna need a lot more room than they’ve allotted on 5th though, at least down to fountain square for sure. 3 blocks is laughable.
I honestly feel 2nd/3rd has had the most room of any location yet. Anything on 5th just feels constricted, especially as you get to the highway ramps.
Like I said in the other comment, caps on FWW can’t come soon enough. I think that would allow for some good land use and a pleasant place for street festivals.
