Light pollution is absolutely horrible. Many people have not even seen the milky way with their own eyes.

I really want to just be able go somewhere and spend the night under the stars but looking at a light pollution map for my area it just isn’t really something that’s feasible

If you are talking about this map; I saw the milky way in a blue area during the summer when there weren’t any clouds. So in most cases you don’t really have to travel too far, just need to get lucky with the weather.

I’m in the middle of the Mississippi basin so yeah looks like it’d be a long trip for me

I’m not sure about the accuracy of the map.

At least it wasn’t the Tijuana pink zone "zona Rosa) or a bunch of Amsterdam apartments with purple lights full blast.

    Greenhouses are a scourge.

    They need better shutters.

I think these types of greenhouses typically also use sunlight through the the roof/walls like a normal greenhouse and the artificial lights are only in supplement so they can control the amount/duration of light year round.

Should still have shutters they close at night to reduce light pollution.

Yeah that would be ideal indeed. Here in Netherlands some places look like you’re in a sci fi movie at night.

The Netherlands are one of the most polluted place in the world. No mountains and all the greenhouses makes a terrible mix.
