I got tired of doing this so I just started to leave the box on the counter until after I’ve set a timer. And it gives you something else to do while your pasta or whatever cooks.
It needs to go from hand to trash. If it goes onto the counter it’s there for days.
I just make sure the instructions are facing up when they go in the bin. Just needs a quick glance without any extra steps to distract and make you forget. (I got rid of the bin lids as my trash/recycle is usually dry and doesn’t smell)
That better be from the pasta region of Italy, otherwise it’s just sparkling noodles.
Sparkling noodles
Stop spying me when I’m cooking!
I like how the eyes goes outside the face in this comic
Obligatory comment for all of them.
( . _ ) .
Agreed, that is my favourite feature of these

Of course the Ham Stroker learns to feel the hardness of a noodle ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Until you cook the one where your supposed to remove the water like yakisoba or jjajangmyon. :p

Some noodles are meant to be eaten in a broth, other not.

You’re mostly water.

I keep the packaging out until I’m done.
I do the same and then forget to throw it away for a couple days
If I planned ahead I wouldn’t be eating instant noodles in the first place!
i have been cutting and keeping one of the little instructions off of boxes of food that i buy regularly fer this vary reason
… Recycle ಥ_ಥ
Unless you know for a fact your local recycling company is good, it truly does not matter, especially in regards to plastics or food contaminated cardboard.
I used to be like this. But at some point, you make enough of something that you just memorize it and you only end up back here when you try something new.
In that scenario the problem for me is when I accidentally think “how was I supposed to do that?”. Everything falls apart then.
Take a photo of the instructions.
When you forget to do that, look up the product online, the cooking instructions should be there.
Could also just be shit memory.
ADHD affects working memory a lot so that checks out.
The other day, I saw an article suggesting memory might exist throughout the body and not just in the brain. I suppose your shit might contain memories. You might even call it shit memory. And after you drop a deuce, you may lose some memories. Retention takes on a whole new meaning!
I’m the quality director of a food packaging company and we have this trash can in the lab for samples we’re done with but maybe not done with. We like to call it our filing cabinet. 🤣 We’re always digging in that trash to check on things.
First panel should be throw it in the trash first, then realize you need the cooking instructions.
Happened to me more than once…
Instead of putting it in the trash, why don’t you figure out what you can put in the box to reuse or recycle it?
I use pasta boxes to store old pasta boxes. No waste that way, and a great inheritance for my kids.
If you stored the pasta boxes at the bank, then, through the magic of compounding interest, you could have double the number of boxes 10 years from now!
Unfortunately, it’s difficult to reuse or recycle pasta boxes when their composition includes 50% or higher of fictional materials.
This is the only correct brain worms take, why is it being down voted?
because the average person would accumulate hundreds of pasta boxes over the course of their life
Yes. Has stuff like that ever been a reason for ADHD brains to not engage in these thoughts?
You seen Hoarders, right?
I haven’t but I’m aware of it. What I wasn’t aware of is that here, in the comments under a comic making fun of the irrational bullshit adhd brains like to spend their time with, we take everything dead serious and do NOT make fun of the irrational bullshit our brains like to spend their time with. Such as when they start coming up with nonsense that a stupid box might yet be useful for while idling and waiting for the noodles to be done. I apologise for my oversight.
No worries as long as the intent wasn’t to be mean. The thought patterns of what goes on in a person with ADHD, ASD, BPD, ect… can be really hard to follow, even for us.
A lot of the memes here are what we go through every day. They’re just tempered with a bit of cynical humor. It also tends to be an avenue for us to vent about the highlighted issues, of which most neurotypical brains don’t usually have trouble with.
I guess the best way I can think of to describe the idea the comic is parodying on is that we (people with ADHD) go around life with a microscope stuck to our eyes. In that we can focus extremely painstakingly well on one subject, but as soon as we shift focus or get distracted, we tend to lose our place, sorta like flicking a slide with your finger at 1000x mag and losing that one bacterial cell.
After years of dealing with this, we tend to subconsciously build very detailed models of how things work or how someone achieved an end-result. This skill gives the appearance that we are gifted at something we just picked up when, in fact, we are just using a model we already built and adapting it to the new thing.
For the comic, we tend to not absorb a cooking time very well unless we know why it’s at that specific interval -and- what is going on (at a granular level) before it’s reached, along with what will happen after.
