I am shocked. A Chinese company making a knock off clone of something. Unbelievable.
One of the main strengths of Horizon is the writing and setting. I see no reason for Sony to sue. Have tencent release on PS5 and double dip, win win.
It’s clone is also only in setting style. Not even the same game genre.
Yeah but Sony wouldn’t make money on any PC, Xbox or Switch sale.
After watching the trailer, it’s true that it really looks like Horizon. Even the music and human characters.
I don’t know how the justice would judge it, but it really looks like a pure cheap copy of Horizon.
Although it’s a very close copy, taken from the trailer, I hardly think it will warrant a suit. Especially if it’s not sold in the west. Live and let live.
The minute Light of Motiram was unveiled, players likened it to the Palworld/Pokemon situation. Palworld, which heavily borrows from Pokemon, has found itself mired in legal controversy as Nintendo has sued its developer Pocketpair for infringement of patent rights.
None of which have anything to do with the monster designs. (Or have anything resembling legitimacy.)
I love Horizon’s setting, but they can’t (and shouldn’t be able to) keep other people from building robot dinosaurs/animals.
