This is a bit personal for me because

CW: SA

I was sexually assaulted by my high school bullies on several occasions. If you post something like this, you support the sexual abuse of children.

And it’s for nerdy wedding vows. Something that really only matters between that guy and his wife and the people they shared that day with.

“This is definitely worth the widespread institutional assault and traumatizing of children to prevent” - a very reasonable take from someone who has their priorities straight

Doesn’t matter what you do, there’s always a chance that some Reddit cretin snags a photo of you and shares it with his fellow creatures so they can violently fantasize about assaulting you for not conforming to neurotypical social standards.

It’s always like this with these people. They spend all day and all night screaming and whining about how the government has gone soft on criminals because you can’t summarily execute a homeless man for existing (you can), how parents have gone soft on their children because you can’t beat your children for being neurodivergent anymore (you can).

Then they whine about how the gays have too many rights and the blacks get special treatment and start describing an alternate reality where the US is actually socially progressive.

No longer being able to oppress is oppression to them, and even then this inability is all in their heads.

Anytime somebody starts mouthing off about “discipline”, run the fuck away from them. They are an abuser.

I never liked the “X should be bullied more” Hexbear memes.

I’ve seen what bullying does to kids. No, it doesn’t “correct” them. In many cases it just spreads bullying tendencies a bit like a disease.

The trivialisation of kid-on-kid violence has always been pretty shit. I’m not sure why so many people think it’s okay for kids to be left with sub-human conditions and standards that they themselves would never endure for a minute.

    I almost

    CW: suicide ideation

ended my own life, of the “I’ll try jumping from a great height” variety (thankfully, I obviously didn’t go through with it, but my friends apparently had friends who weren’t so fortunate)

because I was so miserable at school. Children have a massive capacity for cruelty and teachers are so often useless in dealing with such situations (speaking from personal experience)
