There’s not much in this country that I just have true respect for and one of those things is Sesame Street. Like, “Take your hat off son that’s Big Bird” kind of respect.

This is shameful and I mean that in the most genuine way. How dare you? You had the honor of creating Sesame Street and you threw it away? Who do you think you are?

    Shameful. Disgraceful. Embarrassing.

Sesame Street one of the best pieces of artistry to ever be produced by this rotten country and you should’ve felt honored to have the privilege of creating and distributing it.

It’s been a shell of its former self for a while now. What really needs to happen is to make the old episodes public domain, so they can be streamed from any service for free. I think the show has said all it needs to say, my kids are still going through the old seasons. They’ll be teenagers by the time they hit the most recent episodes.

The fact that Zaslav decided to take most of the old episodes off of Max is a crime against humanity

The consequences of allowing Discovery Communications and Zaslav to acquire Warner-HBO has been just one unmitigated disaster and pox upon the landscape of television and entertainment after another, one of the most destructive mergers in history. On the other hand maybe this might hurt US cultural hegemony a bit and in that respect be a good thing if the US bothers to capitalize on it. But itis so unfortunate for those living in the core. First world problems I guess.
