I don’t know if I have been living under a rock or what, but this is the first time I’ve heard of this. It could be a game changer. Personally, I have been a big proppant of community colleges for years, particularly as I feel I learned a lot more during my time at Oakland Community College than I did at Northern Michigan University. It makes a big difference learning from instructors that actually work in the field rather than those that have spent their entire lives hidden away in academia. My biggest question with this, however, is how much is enrollment going to increase? Can our current community colleges support such?

What a HORRIBLE use of Taxpayer Funds! I’d MUCH rather that money go to a Billionaire to buy a New Private Jet!

My fiance is using this to pay for LCC tuition! It’s a great program, but you do have to be careful if you switch classes around at the beginning of the semester. You can end up with some major fees that even your community college financial aid advisors won’t know about. Apparently there’s a secret number of class sessions you have to attend before withdrawing, or you end up stuck paying for the class, and it doesn’t necessarily line up with the withdrawal timelines of your college, especially if you’re taking a class that only meets once a week
