Where does Williams performance come from? I understand, upgrades, but this good? I remember their car had flat bottom in miami, there was even a meme comparing it to Red Bull. What is happening?
Update 4 Hours later: As TesterJ pointed out, Williams are really fast in high-speed sectors. Here is a graphic comparing Williams and Red Bull, I stole from Formula 1 Tech Talk
Indeed, they are pretty good
Haven’t they been fast in high-speed sectors/tracks all year? Now that they’ve brought some upgrades they might just be more competitive elsewhere. But it’s only FP2, let’s hold off on judgement until qualifying. Other teams may be hiding their pace while working on dialing in their new upgrades.
Oh, this makes sense. Yep, let’s see what happens in qualification and race.
Albon has been sandbagging for years and now he’s like Goku when he takes off his weighted clothes. Alex Albon WDC 2023 you heard it here first.
After Hamilton, Albons my favorite F1 driver. Love to see him clawing his way to the front. Totally solid guy. Wondering if it’s just tire deg that keeps them in midfield?
I wonder the same too
yep, very unexpected
Although this probably doesnt mean a lot, I am here for a Williams double points finish
