I set them last night, and I’m not sure how long it takes for those to show up on other instances. I am curious though, so if you wouldn’t mind dropping a comment if/when you notice the new icon/banner show up on your instances.

    Oh, I didn’t know that. My only experience with community changes propagating out is when I finally got around to adding rules to the sidebar, they didn’t show up on Lemmy World for about a day or so (probably 24hrs like you mentioned about user profiles).

    I asked for the icon submissions to be animated webp since they’re smaller and better quality than gifs. As a static image, does it at least show up in a way that makes sense?

      I see the new icon/banner on my instance immediately! Which is good news

      EDIT: Oh, I see you said you had set them last night (Virginia time), not around the time this post was created. Still, it sounds like changes are immediate anyway.

      Looks alright to me from their instance! It seems to be using the very first frame of the animation. I can always recreate it to start at a different frame, if you want.
