Billionaires will literally buy governments instead of going to therapy
The semantics are making people come out of woodwork to call the whole thing stupid.
First of all the way I see it, it is true that nobody invents a company, they invent products. But Elon still didn’t even invent the Tesla cars, the SpaceX rockets or the startling satellites. Teams of extremely smart engineers (smarter than him) have invented those for him. He also didn’t even buy Tesla. He placed people who are loyal to him on the board and had them vote him into control of the company while kicking out the original founders.
But he loves to go around bragging about being a rocket scientist and I bet if Neuralink ever produces something viable he will go around claiming to be a brain surgeon as well.
And he absolutely bought X and Trump.
I’m coming out of the woodwork to say I don’t think anyone thought Musk “invented” Trump and it’s a very bad landing to a standard routine. Like “bones’re on the outside” bad landing.
He is good at selecting things that will make him a lot of money, though. And at pretending that he is the genius behind everything.
Regarding your first observation, monitoring trends and needs isn’t really that hard a thing to do. All one needs is patience and a bit of discernment.
As for your second, that credit goes to us. Royalty is royalty only because the serfs treat them as such. I mean, look at him now. He’s a global laughing stock, but Republicans still blow hot air up his ass because he has money and resources they can use.
Musk’s just a rich kid with a massive ego and insecurities. That’s all.

Or to just pay someone to do it for you.
He hasn’t done anything professionally except paying more competent people, taking credit for their work, and self-promoting since he made and sold a Space Invaders clone as a kid.

rAmen!
This is a stupid fucking post. muskrat was absolutely a founder of SpaceX, there’s no question about that. Starlink was created as subsidiary of SpaceX, they did not buy existing business that developed the product.
But this post is using the word “invent” instead of “found” to make sound like Elon just bought the companies (like he did with Tesla and Twitter) instead of the technically correct statement that he bought the smart people who made these companies possible.
You don’t use the word “inventing” about forming a company, you use the word “founding”It’s so damn frustrating when people spread this sort of lies to bash on the assholes of the world instead of just staying in factual, actual shit they do (and they do a lot). It just takes off the credibility from the otherwise good post.
Edit: also Elon was one of the founders of the original X.com, but I think this post is referring to xitter
Edit2: I think this post might just be made by one of his sycophants to chip off the credibility of leftists or other people likely to share it.

No shit, Sherlock, that’s the point: it’s emphasizing the difference between providing the funding for a new company and providing the innovation that makes it successful.

You’re entitled to your opinion, but I think your pedantry has gotten the better of you. I don’t believe that most people would be at all bothered by that tiny bit of lexical artistic license in the service of brevity.
This post i fuel for the supporters. Its a post with lies getting boosted with upvotes.
If so obvious lies are allowed to surface, then what others are too? Posts like these are just damaging to the cause.
Look, it’s propaganda. There’s always going to be inaccuracies because a poster that uses the ‘corrrct’ words would be so dense and hard to parse that the average reader wouldn’t give it a second thought.
This has an incredibly clear message that is 90% accurate. I can forgive the 10% as a trade-off for visibility.

Try 50/50.
The “President Musk” gag is a great piece of propaganda. It’s joking about the fact that elon’s investment is paying off, it’s making fun of trump being a puppet and it’s something people are not going to read literally but will still understand the idea.
Or all the posts about zuckerberg getting a rat penis transplant. It’s a clear satire making fun of a real issue and raising awareness.
This post however is trying to push false claims with plausible deniability due to stupid wording. Anyone with 2+ brain cells will look at it and hope the creator never posts again
Right, musk is a horrible person but I really hate posts like this which are basically just lying. Particularly with SpaceX, there are a lot of prominent engineers from SpaceX that say, yes, musk absolutely is a critical piece of SpaceXs success beyond providing capital.
Tom Mueller is one of SpaceX’s founding employees. He served as the VP of Propulsion Engineering from 2002 to 2014 and Propulsion CTO from 2014 to 2019. He currently serves as an Senior Adviser. He’s regarded as one of the foremost spacecraft propulsion experts in the world and owns many patents for propulsion technologies.
"We’ll have, you know, a group of people sitting in a room, making a key decision. And everybody in that room will say, you know, basically, “We need to turn left,” and Elon will say “No, we’re gonna turn right.” You know, to put it in a metaphor. And that’s how he thinks. He’s like, “You guys are taking the easy way out; we need to take the hard way.”
And, uh, I’ve seen that hurt us before, I’ve seen that fail, but I’ve also seen— where nobody thought it would work— it was the right decision. It was the harder way to do it, but in the end, it was the right thing. "
No shit musk isn’t actually engineering individual components, but SpaceX would not be the most exciting, and inspiring companies in the world (IMO) without him (sadly)
There was a time where these kinds of clarifications were important to me. I literally don’t care anymore. Musk created Space X? Who cares. Let the lie enter mainstream and have his legacy lessened.
We’re in a post truth world my guy
And how do you call people that can be bought?
Either slaves or prostitutes.
Exactly. Where would one locate Donald on that list?
I kinda want to say both
trying to rule the world and space. this man must be stopped
no wonder starlink was good he bought it
Musk didn’t buy Starlink
This is stupid meme and just makes “occupy democrats” or just democrats in general look bad because it’s wrong in multiple ways. If you need to play games with word definitions to make it right it’s still wrong. Is this even an original OD creation or something stupid created and OD slapped on it to make OD look dumb? Though I have to admit that I have no idea who OD actually is and it could just be a stupid meme community with no real organization.
The only things Musk bought were Tesla and X, and he contractually negotiated to have himself named a “founder” of Tesla. Nobody is saying he founded X. Nobody. Everybody is saying he fucked up Twitter and turned it into X.
He absolutely did create SpaceX, while they did attempt to join with other companies over variations of what would become Starlink, those joint ventures failed and Musk created Starlink as an original company.
Focus on the many valid criticisms of Musk instead of weakening the credibility of yourself and your cause by stooping to Trump/Musk half truths tactics.
