I’m halfway through Revelation Space by Alastair Reynolds. I’ll be definitely getting the next one as soon as I finish. It’s been a while since I’ve read such a cool hard sci-fi story.
I’ve been in the middle of this book for a long time now as I keep picking up other books, but I think it is quite good. I really need to sit down and finish it so I can see how I feel about moving on to the sequels. It looks like the series is pretty long.
I’m on to the last book of the series, overall I’m definitely not grabbed in the same way as I was by, say, The Culture series.
I also took a break to read Project Hail Mary for book club and enjoyed it!
I need to get back into Red Rising. I’ve finished the first arc but fell off because I wasn’t a big fan of the new audio book narrator. But have been playing a lot of the board/card game and that’s gotten be back in the mood. Picked it up as more of a collection item than anything but gave it a go and it’s just clicked with the group I play with.
I’m currently in the middle of Diaspora by Greg Egan which I am enjoying a lot as it is primarily about the technical details on physics and mathematics. I had no idea what the word “Diaspora” meant until I looked it up halfway through the book and realized it was quite the apt name for it.
I also recently finished reading Project Hail Mary for the book of the month which was a much lighter read and went by pretty quick.
I also recently read Project Hail Mary and really enjoyed it. Definitely a light book but enjoyable and easy to read.
I always recommend not reading the blurb for that book. I liked how the story unfolded, but the blurb gives away what happens. I’m not sure I would have enjoyed it as much if I had read the blurb first.
