    Madagascar for 2 hours? It’s less than an hour and a half long. That means it would be more than 25% ads. I knew network TV was getting bad, but damn, imagine trying to watch a movie and a quarter of your time is just spent waiting for ads to be over.

      A standard half-hour TV show has been 22 minutes long with 8 minutes of ads for like 30 years. This is actually only very slightly worse (the equivalent of 8.5 minutes in a half-hour slot).

      That said, ads are the reason I bought a bunch of DVDs back in the day and now just pirate everything.

        I suppose that’s true. I haven’t watched tv with ads for probably close to 20 years now, so I forgot how bad it always was.
