EFF and a coalition of privacy defenders have filed a lawsuit today asking a federal court to block Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from accessing the private information of millions of Americans that is stored by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), and to delete any data that has been collected or removed from databases thus far.

    Can’t wait for US GOVCORP to just have a beef with the EFF and FOSS as a whole all of a sudden, especially considering DeepSeek is casus beli enough for Altrightman & co. already.

    Time for devs to fork the GNU License to include an Ethics clause that explicitly prohibits any use whatsoever by specific (named) enemies of computing freedom.

    War is war.

    While practically unenforceable in the current US just as GPL is in many cases, this could give orgs and govts legal grounds in other countries and god-willing a potential future better united states.
