Killdeer’s Call
I was sitting here for a few seconds trying to remember the name of this bird. I thought ‘killcow,’ but that didn’t sound right. Then I thought ‘killjoy,’ which sounded better, but I knew that wasn’t it. Finally, I remembered, ‘oh yea, killdeer (Charadrius vociferus).’

@[email protected] That reminds me of my father asking me if I had ever heard of a band called Blind Tiger. I told him I hadn’t. I thought for a few seconds and then asked if he meant Def Leppard. He told me that was it and knew it was a big cat with a handicap. 😂

Their call sounds like they are saying “kill-deer.”
