I’d love to see one. Lots of people just want a casual device with a big screen. And I love the all in one form factor.
Will they ever bring back target display mode? I can’t imagine having a 32" screen that can’t be used with anything but the built in computer. I feel like a ton of people have work computers like me who would want to use this as an external display.
Apples entire product line is designed around planned obsolescence. Seems unlikely to return.
It’s not and stop using “planned obsolescence” when you don’t understand what it means.

That definition word for word applies to Apple products. Like unreplaceable batteries that will always degrade before everything else. Being made out of easily breakable glass backs, not allowing installing your own software, etc.
Would be cool if they brought it back. They removed it after they went to 5k and had to build a custom display controller. Kinda figured they’d bring it back eventually. I wonder if it’s a patent issue or if they have telemetry showing most iMac users don’t use target display/multiple monitors.
This better be true. I’ve been calling for a 27” m-series iMac for years now at this point.
I think I’m done with all-in-one units, even though I have a 27" on my desk at work. Based on the way Apple is going, a Mini or a Studio with an external monitor is the way to go for better (and cheaper) future upgrade options.
Honestly with how affordable mini pcs are (even when soeaking about apple devices, as the mac mini is the chepest entry point into OSX brand new) AIOs to me seem like a dying trend.
Though said with somebias as i do work e-waste and i hate having to handle imacs.
My dream for the iMac is a curved screen with light touch screen capabilities.
