Fun fact for the soviet sycophants: in cyberpunk the whole eastern bloc is a poor, technologically underdeveloped, morally bankrupt shithole (so just mirroring real life I guess). The scavenger gang in cyberpunk was supposed to be explicitly eastern bloc, with their shitty stolen tech and an utter lack of morals, committing horrible atrocities over wholly mediocre western implants.
