India’s work productivity is one of the lowest in the world. Unless we improve our work productivity

Working longer hours does not increase worker productivity.

Stanford professor: Working this many hours a week is basically pointless.

Working Overtime? Longer Hours Won’t Make You More Productive

Research Finds That Working Longer Hours Doesn’t Make You More Productive

Always be suspect of someone telling a group to work longer if they are not in that group.

20 hours for barely feeding and housing the family, 50 hours for making the boss even richer.

If you want to increase unemployment, yes. Smart countries however go the opposite way and offer employees decent wages for 35hr workweek. And plenty of opportunities to spend their free time and their money.

I have a boss from India and they fully expect me to work 50+ hours. I put in my 35-40. I’m not slaving away my salaried time after 40 hours. I’ll be online, but I’m doing chores.
