my uncle didnt have a child then and treated me like his son, he would make mini parachutes with black trashbags and attached it to a small metal thing. Then iaangkas nya ako sa single nyang motor and go to a highpoint in our barangay and throw it then watch it deploy and fall. (sorry for littering)
thinking about it, he did a lot of similar things for me, took me fishing, made me kites, created old school fire crackers, played video games with NES.
(My father was working in manila most of the time kaya mas kasama ko uncle ko) I love my Tito!Manood ng Maynila sa GMA tuwing Sabado, alas diyes ng umaga. Love those Dutch angle shots and bizarre commercials ads exclusive for that show. Bizarre siguro kasi di ko nakita o narinig dito sa probinsiya ang mga ina-advert nila

My first birthday.
I have no memories of it that I recall, but I do have pictures. Everyone was happy, problems were much simpler back then. It is what these photos trigger in me that make it a favorite childhood memory, though there are much more memories.
Not that I long for those days again, rather I look at them with appreciation and cherish those memories in pictures, even if my one y.o. self could not retain those moments in my memory at the time.
I used to (ignorantly) find taking pictures pointless. Looking back, I’m glad I had pictures of important moments like these. Not the SOCMED kind, but the truly special moments, the snapshots of our lives.

Was watching economic news lately, and NEDA had said that we are on track to becoming an upper middle income country. I could not believe it then I realize that our Gini coefficient’s to blame HAHAH too much income inequality.
Hope our economic planners could do something about our country’s wealth gap, though I think that if there’s something they could have done, they would have done it ages ago.

[OPINION] A climate advocate reviews ‘Oppenheimer’
Sa wakas, a sort of deep dive on the movie rather than the deluge of “bEtCha mY GoLLy WoW bEsT mOviE eVar” that your pa-intellectual meathead likes to blabber about. I loved the movie, but it’s not perfect.
Like every Nolan pictures, it’s not perfect. His pictures’ “unusual” audio mixing is glaring since The Dark Knight Rises. I just wish more studios take a risk and trust the filmmaker’s vision and fulfill audiences’ demands… like good storytelling and good performances.
Oppenheimer is like 12 Angry Men but excessively loud.

Personal take on GOMO’s UNLI DATA:
- Is it enough for everyday use? More than enough (comms, emails, web surfing)
- Is it really slow? Depends on the location, as always. GOMO can maximize 5Mbps (625KB/s) efficiently.
- Is it good for gaming? I don’t do online gaming on my phone, so I cannot tell (sorry).
- Is it enough for nitpliks-ing? Oo naman. Naka-auto setting lang ako sa app, at wala akong na-encounter na buffering pagktapos mag-stream ng Lawrence of Arabia (3hrs), Wild Things (1h48m), at Do Revenge (1h58).
- Okay ba sa spotepai? Yes. Kaka-download ko lang ng personal playlist ko na may 237 na naka-High Quality. Natapos lang ito sa loob ng 15mins.
- Sulit ba ₱20 kada araw? Walang ganitong mobile data offer sa iba.
- Okay ba si GOMO? Depende sa lokasyon. Kung feasible ang Globe sa inyo, feasible din si GOMO.
I use Gomo as backup for WFH. Sometimes, na-experience ko na na-di-disconnect ang mga interactions ko since mahina ang signal ng Gomo sa area namin.
GOMO uses their own APN, not the Globe one. Maybe yan din ang rason na nadidisconnect (I stand corrected on this one) , but for me, wala akong nararanasang buffer when streaming (because some bits of it are already downloaded). Yeah, sometimes mag didisconnect siya, especially mag bo-browse ako sa Lemmy at YouTube.
As long as I can send and receive messages and calls on Viber and emails, I’m fine. 5Mbps is enough for me.

Starlink is intended for rural areas naman talaga without fiber optic or any sort of physical connections. Marami lang talaga nakiuso at hindi nag-research mas lalo na sa urban areas HAHAHA
