“And what about grocery shopping?”
I’m still learning, and I still need a car for a lot of things, but this is still greatly satisfying!
ITA:
Didn’t know there were so many Italians in the sub :) For everyone else, OP said basically the same thing first in English, then in italian
Actually this is thanks to fediverse magic: I post from a mastodon account, but by mentioning the bikecommuting community the toot is also a Lemmy post.
Italians commenting this post are mainly my mastodon contacts who are mainly from Italy 😉. But this should allow them to know this very interesting Lemmy community
@lgvs
I wasn’t aware I was in lemmy: what a great community!
sorry for posting in italian here.@De_Treias
my fault, not yours. I’m experimenting a bit, I will make this explicit next time I post like this 😉.There is no strict rule about language in @bikecommuting by the way, so I thought that posting both in English and Italian was ok.

take my upvote!
Normally I manage the whole week grocery shopping with 2 (now ~12 years old) panniers + 1 Ikea bag as a rucksack, a couple of years ago I was using my kids trailer (now broken).

@kidpixo great setup, it’s a shame that I can0t see the picture from Mastodon, but I can from lemmy 😕
Very nice panniers BTW

from looking around, it looks like it’s still a hit and miss thing, depending on versions of server software and luck. Maybe it will work in the future
I got one of those food delivery app bags, bought it straight from the manufacturer for super cheap (OFC without the branding because fuck neofeudalist gig economy apps) You could fit an adult male in there and it even turns into a backpack so I can even take it indoors.
@Omega_Haxors interesting!
Is it fast to fix it on the bike?
What is the name or website of the brand?
You have to install a metal platform for it to rest on, but once that’s on it’s just four straps to get it on and off. Can’t remember where I got it from because it was a long time since and obviously there’s no branding on the side to differentiate it.
I have a small trailer with double stack of boxes (2× the size of a case of soda) that I use for about 90% of my good for a small restaurant. I use one for our regular home shopping about 1x per week. More than enough.
@Che_Donkey
A restaurant! That must be a lot of stuff!how much drag does a trailer cause?
Got one for less than 150-175€, plus an extra container for 35€? Insulated bag (especially for summer) another 10-15€.
@lgvs
@bikecommuting@De_Treias
