    It looks like Frogwares is listed as the publisher here, so it sounds like whatever issue they had with their previous published has been resolved. I hope they got all the money they were owed

          While I understand your position, I think if the devs see a growing share of userbase running their games on Linux despite proton, they might feel compelled to put extra effort in at least a better experience with proton (first) and then possibly later a native port.

          I’m guessing this is how little by little we get devs to consider native ports. They need to see the demand for it before committing. If nobody ever even tries to run their games on Linux even with proton somewhat working, they’ll never be able to gage the interest and need.

          At least that’s how I view it and plan on weighing in and nudging the devs.

            @TheHobbyist this has been for a long while the idea behind Wine, but it’s one of those things that so far has never worked in practice. If the game or other program works fine under Wine, and people use it anyway, developers actually have no incentive to make a native port. And any improvements to the support typically comes from the Wine (or Proton) developers, with little or no support from the original developers. So in the end it really doesn’t seem to be working as expected in that sense.
