Honestly, strategy wise, she’s fighting an obese, very old, demented, rageful man. People make fun of her, and fuck her politics, but she’s one cheeseburger away from being the Republican candidate with the most electoral votes who also has a pulse.

I mean a cheeseburger stands a greater chance of delivering justice than the entire “justice” system…

What a farce of a country this is.

This is exactly what I was thinking.

Trumps bid for presidency is a bit of a house of cards. Any number of things could topple him. Even if Trump is in the white house for 3 years, she’s still getting face time.

        phylactery

“A small leather box containing Hebrew texts on vellum, worn by Jewish men at morning prayer as a reminder to keep the law.”

        That phylactery?

More likely the D&D/fantasy version. Harry Potter called them “horcruxes”. Keep your soul in a box and whatever happens to your body, you can’t truly die.

But I didn’t know they were based on Jewish mythology, so thanks for that TIL!

I’m not sure that the phylactery in D&D is based on Jewish practices. The word comes from Latin and referred to something sacred/guarded and could be a place or even an amulet.

The term is being used appropriately in D&D and Jewish peoples also use it for their beliefs. Another guy posted he might stop using it because of the Jewish connotations, which that’s totally up to them but I don’t think it’s exclusive.

Then again, perhaps Latin created a word from seeing Jewish practices. I don’t know. I’m just a dude on the internet.

Ditto, I had no idea. I knew them as the thing you had to find to defeat a lich in D&D.

Sounds like it’s an insensitive term so I’ll try to stop using it that way.

Imagine the look on the other candidates if trump keels over and Haley wins by default.

I wonder if they’d run trump’s corpse just to show their platform on women’s rights?

But his constant diarrhea mouth lost him a lot of support.

It also gained him a lot of support which is honestly terrifying

Actually not true. The richest person in the US has the same life expectancy as the poorest person in the UK. Being wealthy in the US doesn’t help as much as it does in some places.

CLARIFICATION: A vote for “None Of These Candidates” was a vote for Trump. So she lost to Trump.

I follow global politics fairly closely (I’m not from America) and I didn’t immediately know that’s effectively what happened.

In fairness, I didn’t read the article.

“The reason I actually ran for office is because of Hillary Clinton… She said that when it comes to women running for office, there will be everybody that tells you why you shouldn’t, but that’s all the reasons why we need you to do it, and I walked out of there thinking, ‘That’s it. I’m running for office.’”

And running in the party that takes every opportunity to lambast Hillary at every turn, the party filled with sexists, and the party that will never vote a woman into the office of president.

She has to be trying to pander to the “No Labels” crowd, because I’m pretty sure they’re the only ones left who like her. The GOP are now in decade 3 of their smear campaign against her, and Democrats just want her to go the fuck away after fumbling 2016 away.
