I appreciate remakes of games i haven’t played but usualy i always have the opinion, that new games, new ideas are better than redo something old. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a quite different game for me than Final Fantasy VII, so i’m fine with that. But the Pokemon remake thing is unessesary for me and i wouldn’t need a Persona 3 remake if i had played the older ones.
There are some I’d really like to see, even just as remasters (Final Fantasy Tactics for a full orchestral soundtrack, Terranigma and Xenogears for revised scripts), and I wouldn’t complain if Final Fantasy VI got the FF7 remake treament. But generally I agree; I’d rather see new projects, especially new IPs.
I’m currently playing FF1 pixel remaster and it’s a pretty good remake, with many quality of life improvements but also a great remake of the original soundtrack. I remember the first version of the game being particularly difficult and I don’t remember if I finished it but this one I really enjoy it.
Another great remake is the Witcher 3, though I haven’t played the original but the new version has vastly improved graphics, it’s beautiful.
