I live in a city that has removed nearly all of its public toilets in the denser urban areas. There is shit and piss everywhere and alleyways between buildings absolutely reek like sewage.

And I’m 100% for it. If our city officials want to remove public washrooms then this is exactly what they deserve to happen. Would be great if folks could drop a few logs around city hall too.

Scored a working Commodore desktop calculator for $25. It needed a light cleaning and I replaced the cracked battery tray but the electronics and VFD tubes work great.

I mostly avoid major world news now for the most part. I prefer to read hobby-specific news and local news, such as my municipality.

Forgive me for the pessimism, but I sincerely doubt that they honour any opt-outs. Meta has shown time and time again that they’d rather just pay fines as business expenses instead of abiding by law(s).

Microsoft has so many spinning plates up in the air right now and they have no idea how to handle them all. Eventually they’re all going to come crashing down and smash on the floor and it’s not going to be pretty.

This is a big problem with all sorts of disposal methods. It’s the reason I see so much stuff thrown out when it should be recycled or dumped in bushes or forests. If you want someone to do the right thing then you can’t make them drive across a damn city and/or charge them a disposal fee when they attempt to get rid of it. It sucks seeing mattresses dumped on the side of the road or on quiet hiking trails, but I know the reason they’re there is because getting rid of one properly is like $50-$75 which is goddamn absurd.
