As a Sync homer, I am absolutely ok with ads until I think Lemmy is worth the extra investment. I don’t understand the hate. I could not get into Lemmy with Jerboa and I’m willing to deal with the ads on a UX that I enjoy for now. Just do what you like and ignore the rest. If a bunch of people like it, maybe just them enjoy it without hating on them.
Ultimately, it increases the popularity of Lemmy. Why try to gate keep? This is the same attitude that made Reddit unenjoyable.
