Indie absolutely connotes either the above or a style/genre. Everyone knows this. It’s a very flexible term that can vary from person to person. It’s a “vibe,” it’s classic “I know it when I see it.”

Yeah, absolutely. Just for me, this feels like a typical AA game. Indie is more like Noita, Mouthwashing or Vampire Survivors. But you are right, there are no definitive borders or anything.

Having connections is not the same as having a major publisher. Something isn’t indie because it’s a genre or just a small group of people.
