Rules: explain why

That has to be one of the cringiest movies I’ve seen, is tries so hard, too hard with it’s “WE LOVE YOU NERD, YOU’RE SO COOL FOR PLAYING GAMES AND GETTING THIS 80S REFERENCE” message and the whole “corporation bad, the people good” narrative seems written for toddlers… The fan service feels cheap and adds nothing to the story.
Finally, they trying to make the people believe that very attractive girl with a barely visible red tint spot on her face is “ugly”… Like wtf?
Yet it received decent reviews plus being one of the most successful movies of that year.
I am so curious why you don’t like elf! I’m not looking for an argument, that’s just by far the most surprising answer in this thread to me
It just absolutely does nothing for me. Will Farrel is NOT for me
Yeah I could see folks really disliking his comedy
what baffles me is that anyone likes it at all, it’s terrible from start to finish. ferrell isnt funny on his best day, there’s exactly one ‘joke’ repeated ad nauseum, and the plot is nonsense.
I mean ultimately it’s a kids movie. The jokes are going to be shallow and loud.
i mean ultimately “it’s for kids” is a sorry defense for a piece of media. there’s plenty of “for kids” movies that aren’t beginning-to-end low-effort unfunny schlock.
It’s more that you’re going to struggle to resonate with it as an adult. I think this conversation is getting a little too hostile lol
I don’t like Minions but I get why kids do is the thrust here.
“It’s not that it’s bad it’s that you’re incapable of getting it.” yeah we’re done here.
Not what I said but ok have a good one!
