Donald Trump has suggested large numbers of Palestinians should leave Gaza to “just clean out” the whole strip, after ordering the US military to restart shipments of 2,000lb bombs to Israel.
The US president said he wanted Gaza residents to move to neighbouring nations, and that they could be displaced “temporarily or could be long-term”, after a phone call with Jordan’s King Abdullah on Saturday.
“I said to him: I’d love you to take on more because I’m looking at the whole Gaza Strip right now and it’s a mess, it’s a real mess. I’d like him to take people,” Trump said, when asked about the call.
He also suggested Egypt as a destination for Gaza residents, and said he would raise the issue with President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi on Sunday.

This ceasefire deal was the same one proposed by Biden in May of last year. Hamas agreed to it, but Netanyahu did not.

I 100% believe there’s a side deal here that benefits Trump personally (because every decision he makes as POTUS will be, in part, to monetize it for himself), but grift is 100% preferable to continued genocide. It’s not even a contest.
Yes that is true, we can agree on deals that personally benefit trump but like … The genocide stopped? That news hasn’t seemed to hit my news feeds. Seems a lot like Israel is still killing indiscriminately in the West Bank and Gaza. They just took a break from large bombs- but I keep seeing stories about snipers in Gaza killing Palestinians and in the West Bank they’re destroying roads and infrastructure with bulldozers, so seems like business as usual from what I’m seeing… this deal isn’t even for a lasting ceasefire, so when the big news corps move to whatever absolutely insane things Trump does next, that deal will end and they’ll continue to drop 2000lbs bombs on civilians that the US will provide.
