    Not a super volcano, but when the overdue Cascadia Subduction Zone finally snaps… let me just put it this way:

    One of my bosses a few years back used to work as an emergency response coordinator for FEMA before we met at a different non profit.

    He told me that the short version of what that would look like is ‘Expect everything west of I5 to be completely destroyed.’

    Its something like 20 years overdue for … what could be a greater than magnitude 9.0 quake.

    That’ll create a massive tsunami, which’ll fuck up pretty much all the most populous cities along the coast of the Puget Sound / Salish Sea.

    There’s also a not insignificant chance it would set off a bunch of other faultlines around the rest of WA and BC, such as the Seattle Fault, which basically runs right through Seattle.

    Oh right, if we get extremely unlucky… basically all of the major mountains in the Cascade Range are actually volcanoes. Lets hope they don’t get riled up, even though a 9.0+ CSZ rupture would be so powerful it could also set off the San Andreas fault all the way down in California.
