The former chairman of the Wisconsin Republican Party said Sunday he was ātrickedā into signing documents alleging former President Trump won the 2020 election as part of the stateās āfake electorā scheme.
Andrew Hitt told Anderson Cooper in a ā60 Minutesā interview that he was advised by the state GOPās legal counsel to sign the documents as a contingency, in case the Trump campaignās legal case against Wisconsinās election integrity succeeded.
Hitt said he āwasnāt comfortable withā Trump campaign attempts to toss out votes in Wisconsin, and that he didnāt believe the legal claims of widespread fraud.
