Getting punched doesn’t harm Q, but The Sisko was a lot less fun to torment. That said, Q did save Picard multiple times, and saved all of humanity through Picard once. Q is alright in my book.

Wasn’t Q also responsible for the borg’s first encounter with humanity? And lots of unrelated fatalities aboard the Enterprise?

One could also argue starfleet would be woefully unprepared if they hadn’t encountered them so far away and so early before invasion

Well technically the first contact would’ve been when the Hansen family was assimilated in 2350 about 15 years before that episode.

Sisko has wormhole aliens looking out for him, and it seems like they are peers with the Q.

So in that sense, there’s no fun bullying someone if their siblings will just come and shut you down.

Idk I don’t think can or are willing to directly involve themselves more than they are or they would not have let the space nazis do their thing for so long.

I mean they would see the Q as peers, and barely get involved with tiny little ephemeral organic lifeforms. Cf. all the lore about the continuum combined with the prophets.

Plus [spoiler info about The Sisko’s origins here].
