30 is young to about 2/3rds of the people on the planet. 40 is pushing it. I’m in my 40’s and still get called young by older people, but I’m like “I’m old, not young, you’re just very old” lol. Anyways, to your point, I’d consider 30 to be the cutoff for the young moniker, but it’s different for everyone, based on their age.
I’m not trying to argue with you, just conveying the message that someone’s definition of young changes as they get older. I don’t think there’s a general consensus as to what qualifies someone as “young”, or if there is then I’m unaware of it. It’s going to depend on who the audience is. Right?
