Tips for beginning hoarder

Hey guys. I was planning on getting a Raspberry Pi 4 for a home NAS / Plex (and Pi-Hole) setup. Would you recommend that or just getting a Synology or something comparable?

I’ll mainly store videos, archives off my photography and some roms.
