I’m new to lemmy and today I tried 4 iOS apps (Memmy, Mlem, Liftoff and Lemmios). None of them seem to support native link sharing. Isn’t it a typical use case to post based on a link? I’m confused because I thought that would be one of the 1st features any lemmy client would offer. Please enlighten me where I got it wrong.

It can happen that Feature like that were forgotten. Try opening an Issue if not one exists on the Project of your preferred Client.
