Zermatt, in Switzerland, bans all private cars and all gasoline cars. But if you run a business, you might be able to buy one of the special, tiny ones that are built right there. ■ Zermatt: https://zermatt.ch ■ Stimbo: https://stimbo.ch/

I mean, it’s cool and all. As a Swiss citizen I’ve been there. But it’s a small village town living from tourists (who arrive by train).
Definitely not a model for the world, but definitely something that places with slower life and simple traffic could adopt.
What if they need to transport a load of bricks, or sand, or scaffolding?
I imagine there are more than a few loopholes in the ‘no cars’ policy.
It’s no private car ownership. If you need a load of bricks, if delivery isn’t an option, a rental might be.
That sounds lovely actually
Combine that with the fact that this town looks like it has a very slow life style, it wouldn’t be weird to have to wait a month or so for an order. Everyone probably knows each other and if there was an emergency, there would be someone nearby to help patch a roof, even if it was just throwing a tarp over it.
