Choosing to not see a movie is not cancellation

Choosing not to drink a specific beer brand is not cancellation

Not wanting tax funded healthcare is not cancellation

You might want to look up the definition, that way you won’t look like an idiot next time. Pressuring an employer to fire an employee you don’t like, is cancellation. That’s the original meaning of the term.

Btw, it’s funny how the left used to say that “cencel culture” was an alt-right myth all the way up until now.

Choosing not to platform some psycho isn’t cancellation either. Choosing to ban racists/sexists/fascists/homophobes from places, businesses or websites isn’t cancellation either.

Not wanting tax funded healthcare is simply wrong, but that’s a whole different story.

Pressuring lawmakers into denying an election is cancellation. Banning books from schools is cancellation. Banning healthcare practices for adults is cancellation.

The original meaning of the term is boycotting something morally wrong. It’s even funnier when you tell me to do research and you haven’t even done one bit yourself.

To cease to provide financial or moral support to (someone deemed unacceptable). Point 10, here

It would’ve been called “firing” if it just involved getting someone fired. And if your employer happens to fire you, then that’s a private decision that’s based on a democratic process. Good job!
