Tbh, Iran is the main supporter and supplier of Hamas, and taking Iran out would also be good for Ukraine and probably for the people in Iran. The possibility of USA and NATO intervening is pretty high.

Failed states are never good. Did we not learn this from Iraq and Syria? What about Libya? And let’s not gloss over the fact that Iran is, for better or worse, one of the few countries in the region willing to stand up to Israel and the US.

Getting involved in yet another war should be avoided. We have not fully recovered from the last one.

They already tried that, it was the one of the biggest military failures in modern history. The only winner in US getting involved would be China. Since that would require US to relocate their fleets from around Taiwan.

Also, people of Iran hate everything US stands for, since US is responsible for many of the current issues they face.

Yeah but the Theocratic / kleptocratic government is all on them. They could choose to get rid of it and step into the 21st century.

Yeah like all other countries with shitty governments who just get overthrown by the population, so simple. Did you even see the repression they faced during the protests in the past few years?

At least you agree with Al Qaeda that 9/11 was righteous, there’s that.

Not exactly. Iran was cool and happy with US and western goods, life was good, but then US decided to slap the sanctions and through various US power moves it bullied the rest of the western world into applying them too. So Iran went overnight from a progressive and growing country into poor and isolated from the rest of the world. Which turned people of Iran from praising US to hating them with everything they are. You are right in that they did elect current leaders, but it is directly related to US actions.

And also, to be fair, it’s not easy to overthrow an entrenched violent regime full of brutal religious fuckwits.

Their nowadays government is 100% on them. Yes there was a failed attempt, but the situation now is completely different.
