Amazon is taking 60% of the royalties from authors? What the fuck? That’s straight up exploitation. So, someone comes up with a completely unique idea, spends years of their life to create it, and Amazon thinks they should get 60% of the money just because they provided a store that practically manages itself as a place to sell it? That is what they were offering Brandon Sanderson, one of the biggest and most productive authors in science fiction/fantasy. The reason he broke it off was because he realized if they were taking 60% from him, they were murdering smaller authors.
