I think it’s more complicated than that. I think the PLA would lose a lot of support by agreeing to a two state solution while also agreeing to oppose Hamas. And Israel isn’t going to make an agreement with the PLA if they expect to have to defend both states from Hamas.
There needs to be both a strong Palestinian leader and a strong Israeli leader who both want peace bad enough to stand up to the hardliners on their side.
None of that justifies the horrific genocide that’s being perpetrated right now.
