not a huge fan of this comic being a meme on here tbh. the yellow peril stereotypes are just really overt in this one. i don’t mind laughing at the stereotypes but i don’t enjoy watching white people identify with them when this comic employs them unironically (the “brainwashed” look and the conical hat especially.) Idk, I’m glad that hexbear doesn’t despise China like most places on the internet, but I just don’t find this comic funny. maybe i’m being too sensitive?
Nah, it definitely misses the mark. The stereotypes don’t really add anything to the joke. I think most people would have gotten what he was saying if it was just the kid dancing on the American flag and holding a Chinese flag.
