I really hope it plays differently from Eiyuden Rising. Talk about a game that did not respect your time.
The dungeon was just a long straight hallway that blocked your advance with an invisible wall at the furthest point every time you entered it beyond which ‘more story happens’.
You run through room 1-8 then a 10 second story happens. Run back through the entire dungeon to town. Talk to 1 NPC. Go back through the entire dungeon rooms 1-9 then 10 second story happens. Run back through the entire dungeon to town. Talk to 1 NPC. Go back through the entire dungeon rooms 1-10…
Repeat for the entire game…
No exaggeration - it has 160 Fetch Quests.
Rising had an entirely different developer and approach.
Although this is exactly why I wonder if it was a mistake to try to fund late-stage development with a companion game.
I’d call this more of a loose confirmation that a sequel is coming given the original Japanese text. More of a “we’re going in that direction.”
Hopefully the game does well enough to get it there.
PC?
Yep! Steam and GOG (and maybe elsewhere?) on 4/23.
