    I find it hilarious, how everyone’s impressed about Tom being able to interpret hex codes as colors in the mattress highlight.

    With me working as a software engineer, I’d expect all my colleagues to know the color pretty intuitively. Makes you easily lose track of what’s impressive to normal folks, when you’re constantly surrounded by extreme nerds…

      I think this is a great example of “any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” To us, yeah it’s pretty easy to just break it up into the separate R/G/B channels and guesstimate by how much of each there is. But to those who just see #fe2c6d as a meaningless string of numbers and letters, you must be a wizard to get a color out of that!
