Officials said the measures would be in place until Israel allowed an “uninterrupted and sufficient flow” of aid.

Erdogan may be an authoritarian, but he makes decisions in Turkey’s interests, not other nation’s interests. His country is over 95% Muslim, so I don’t know why you’re surprised by this. I don’t like the man but am glad he’s taking this step

Because Israel’s genocide isn’t about religion, literally at all, and because Turkey has done some similarly abhorrent things to Kurds.

All signs point to this being a fascist genocide rooted in a capitalist settler-colonial ideology. But please, explain to me how this is about religion.

Turkey’s pivot away from Israel and towards the Palestinians is due to the conservative and pro-Islamic grassroots of Mr. Erdogan’s AKP party

Turkey has a deep-rooted shared history and maintains strong cultural and social connections with the Palestinian people

The Turkish president has built his political platform on the theme of an ascending Turkey — with a historic responsibility to protect the dispossessed Muslim populations in the region, including, of course, the Palestinians

Religion is at the very basis of this, and your buzz-word salad makes no sense

I only claimed Israel’s genocide was secular, I didn’t claim Turkey’s actions were as well. If Turkey has a religious motivation for taking action against a secular atrocity, then that’s certainly worth analyzing more. But Israel’s genocide has nothing to do with religion.

If you don’t understand how a fascist government could ever commit a fascist genocide over a landgrab for capital interests, then I don’t know what to say.
